Privacy Policy
Alpha Pilot · Last updated July 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Surge Grid collects during the alpha pilot ("Pilot"), how we use it, and your choices. By using Surge Grid you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email, and password (passwords are stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase).
- Device information — when you connect a device through Smartcar or Enode, we receive data such as battery level, charging status, thermostat setpoint, and device model. We never receive or store the password to your car or device account.
- Usage and grid data — records of grid events, your device's participation, and estimated earnings, used to measure and improve the service.
2. How we use it
We use your information to operate the service, connect your devices to grid programs, calculate estimated earnings, provide support, improve the product, and prepare the reporting required to enroll in grid programs. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run Surge Grid — for example our authentication and database provider (Supabase), device-connection providers (Smartcar, Enode), and payment processor (Stripe, in test mode during the Pilot) — and with grid operators or program partners as needed to participate, or where required by law.
4. Data retention and security
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the service, and we use reasonable technical measures to protect it. No system is perfectly secure.
5. Your choices
You can disconnect any device, request a copy or deletion of your data, or close your account at any time by contacting us. Disconnecting a device stops further data collection from it.
