Surge Grid uses Smartcar to securely read data from your car. We will request the following permissions:
EV Battery Level
Read your car's current battery charge percentage so we can estimate available energy for grid events.
Charging Status
Know whether your car is charging, plugged in, or idle — this determines if it can participate in a grid event.
Odometer
Read your mileage for verification and reporting purposes.
Vehicle Information
Identify your car's make, model, and year so we can display it correctly in your dashboard.
We never access your location, lock/unlock your car, or control any vehicle functions. You can disconnect at any time from your Assets tab.
Connect your smart thermostat so it can earn during grid events. Sign in with your thermostat maker's own account.
ecobee is temporarily unavailable — their developer program is closed to new apps. We'll enable it as soon as it reopens.
Surge Grid connects to your thermostat to help it earn during grid events. We will request the following permissions:
Temperature & Setpoint

Heating / Cooling Status
Know whether your system is heating, cooling, or idle to determine if it can participate.
Temporary Setpoint Adjustments
During a grid event, make small, brief, opt-in setpoint changes (a degree or two), then return it to normal.
Device Information
Identify your thermostat's make and model so we can display it correctly in your dashboard.
We never access cameras, microphones, or other devices in your home. You stay in control and can disconnect at any time from your Assets tab.
